AI search and GEO
What is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring a website's content, entity data and technical markup so that AI answer engines can accurately retrieve, understand and cite that business.
The AI answer engines that matter today are ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot. When someone asks one of these a question, it does not return a list of links — it returns a written answer, sometimes naming specific businesses. GEO is the work of becoming one of the businesses it names, and of making sure that what it says about you is correct.
How is GEO different from traditional SEO?
SEO optimises for ranked retrieval. GEO optimises for extraction and citation.
In SEO, success is a higher position in a list of ten links, and the click is the goal. In GEO, success is your business being named inside a written answer, and there may be no click at all.
They share a technical foundation — fast pages, clean semantic markup, accurate structured data, genuinely useful content. But they differ in emphasis. GEO weights self-contained factual passages that a model can lift and attribute without surrounding context, unambiguous entity definition in structured data, and explicit permission for AI crawlers in robots.txt. Most sites fail that last point without realising it.
Do I still need SEO if I am doing GEO?
Yes. Conventional search still handles the overwhelming majority of commercial queries in India, and abandoning it for AI search would be trading a large certain channel for a smaller emerging one.
The two are not alternatives. Roughly seventy per cent of the technical work overlaps: a site that is fast, correctly structured, properly marked up and genuinely useful performs better in both. The remaining thirty per cent is where they diverge, and that portion is what GEO adds on top rather than instead. Our SEO service and our GEO service are usually bought together for exactly this reason.
How long before I see results from SEO or GEO?
Technical fixes register within days to a few weeks — crawl errors, page speed, structured data and indexation problems are usually reflected quickly. Local SEO for a defined service area typically shows movement in one to three months. Competitive organic rankings realistically take four to eight months of consistent work.
GEO visibility is less predictable, because AI systems refresh their sources on their own schedules. Some changes appear within weeks, others take a few months.
Any agency promising first-page rankings in thirty days is either describing a term nobody searches or is not being straight with you.

Pricing and scope
How much does a website cost?
We quote per engagement rather than publishing a rate card, because the honest answer depends entirely on scope. A five-page site for a local clinic and a fifty-page site for a manufacturer with product catalogues and multi-language support are not the same job, and a single published price would be wrong for one of them.
What drives cost is the number of unique page templates, whether content already exists or needs writing, integrations with other systems, and whether e-commerce or user accounts are involved.
You receive a written, itemised quote after a free consultation — before any work begins, and with no obligation to proceed.
Why do you not publish your prices?
Because a published price is either a "starting from" figure that almost nobody actually pays, or a package that forces the work to fit the price rather than the price to fit the work. Both mislead.
What we do commit to publicly: bundling more than one service into a single engagement costs less than buying those same services separately. That is not a promotional discount — it reflects real duplicated groundwork that disappears when one team does the work. The bundling table shows which services combine.
What is included in a website build?
Every website build includes:
- Custom design and development — no page-builder templates
- Semantic HTML5 with complete schema.org structured data
- Core Web Vitals performance optimisation
- WCAG AA accessibility compliance
- Mobile-first responsive implementation across all breakpoints
- Content management setup so you can edit without calling us
- Analytics, Google Search Console and conversion tracking configured
Hosting and domain registration are billed separately at cost. We do not mark up infrastructure you could buy directly.
Do you require a long-term contract or retainer?
Project work — a website build, an app — is quoted and delivered as a defined project with no ongoing commitment afterwards.
Ongoing services such as SEO, GEO, paid advertising and social media do work best over a sustained period, because search visibility compounds and a campaign stopped after six weeks rarely repays its setup. We will recommend a realistic minimum period and explain why — but we do not lock clients into long contracts with punitive exit terms. If the work is not producing value, you should be able to stop.

Working with us
Why should I hire an agency with no client reviews yet?
It is a fair question, and the honest answer involves a real trade-off rather than a clever reframe.
The risk is genuine: no long track record, no roster of references to call.
What you get in exchange: our early engagements determine whether this agency has a second year, so the attention going into your project is not divided across forty accounts. Early clients also work directly with the founder rather than an account manager.
We have deliberately chosen not to fill our testimonials page with invented quotes or stock photographs while we wait for real ones. That is the same standard of honesty we apply to the work.
What happens if I am not happy with the work?
The work continues to be refined until you are satisfied. We do not operate a fixed revision quota, because a quota puts client and agency on opposite sides of every correction and turns feedback into a negotiation.
Instead, progress is shared at defined checkpoints throughout the project rather than revealed at the end, so disagreements about direction surface early while they are inexpensive to resolve. In practice this means fewer large rewrites, not more.
The commitment applies to the agreed scope. Refining a design until it is right is included. Adding a booking system that was never scoped is a new piece of work and gets quoted as one — we will say so plainly rather than absorbing it and resenting it.
Who owns the website and the code when the project ends?
You do. On final payment, full ownership of the website, its code, its content and its design transfers to you.
Domain and hosting accounts are registered in your name wherever possible, so nothing is held hostage. If you later decide to work with a different agency, you can hand over everything and leave — without asking permission or paying a release fee.
We build on standards-based HTML, CSS and JavaScript rather than a proprietary platform specifically so that another competent developer can pick the work up.
How do I know whether my website needs work at all?
A few signals are reliable:
- Open your site on a phone over mobile data, not wifi, and count the seconds before you can read anything. More than three is a problem.
- Search your business name plus your city. If you do not appear, something is wrong.
- Ask ChatGPT or Perplexity to recommend a business like yours in your area. See whether you are mentioned, and whether what it says is accurate.
- Check whether enquiries have fallen without an obvious explanation.
We offer a free written website audit that examines all of this properly, including whether AI crawlers can access your site at all. If the honest finding is that your site is already in good shape, that is what the document will say.

Technical questions
Can you work with my existing website, or does it need rebuilding?
Often the existing site can be improved rather than replaced, and that is usually the cheaper and better answer. A site with sound underlying structure that is merely slow, badly marked up or poorly organised can be substantially fixed in place.
A rebuild becomes the honest recommendation when the site is built on an abandoned platform, when its structure actively prevents proper markup, or when the cost of repeatedly working around its limitations exceeds the cost of starting again.
We will tell you which situation you are in during the free audit — including when the answer means a smaller project for us.
What technology do you build websites with?
Standards-based HTML, CSS and JavaScript, chosen to fit the project rather than to fit a preferred toolkit.
For marketing sites, a static or lightly-generated build is usually fastest, cheapest to host, and easiest for search engines and AI crawlers to read. For sites needing frequent non-technical editing, we add a content management system behind that. Heavier JavaScript frameworks get used only where genuine application behaviour requires them, because content rendered by JavaScript is read less reliably by AI crawlers.
This website is deliberately built with no framework and no build step at all. Disable JavaScript and read it — every word is still there. That is the standard.
Will an AI chatbot give my customers wrong information?
That is the central risk in conversational AI, and it is an engineering problem with a known solution called grounding.
A general-purpose model asked a question it cannot answer will produce a confident, plausible, invented response. We build assistants against your own documented information, so that when a question falls outside what your business has actually stated, the assistant says it does not know and offers a human — rather than guessing convincingly.
Part of the scoping work is deciding explicitly what the assistant must refuse to answer. Typically that means anything touching price commitments, legal advice, or medical guidance. More on how we build assistants.
